Animal Ambassadors

Choose from a variety of animals such as barn owl, hedge hog, thick-billed parrot or African serval cat. All Encounters are 30 minutes in length and are subject to the availability of animals. Click here for a complete list of program animals.

Private Wildlife Wonders Show

Ideal for family gatherings, corporate groups, and anyone wild about animals, this private Wildlife Wonders Show takes you across North America and Africa in less than 30 minutes! Eight to ten animals participate in each program, many of whom are endangered or threatened species. Up to 300 guests can enjoy this special presentation, all in the beautiful and shaded Tennity Amphitheater - just walking distance from the main entrance, Chase Gallery & Reception Garden, Irvine Patio, and The Palm Garden. Show subject to relocation due to weather.

Guided Tours

Take a walk or ride on the wild side and get the scoop on our furry and feathery friends. Learn about their struggle for survival and discover what The Living Desert is doing to help protect these amazing species and their habitats.

Rates: Guided walking tours are 3 hours in length, $15/person, minimum 15 guests.
Guided Riding Tours are one-hour in length and include our Wildlife Wonders Show, $16.50/person, minimum 15 guests.

Spirit of Africa Behind-The-Scenes Experiences

Twiga (Giraffe)
Guests will enjoy the experience of a lifetime with this behind-the-scenes visit with our beautiful Reticulated Giraffes. Learn about these graceful giants with a private feeding, and guided adventure in our state-of-the-art giraffe barn.

Duma (Cheetah)
Go behind-the-scenes at our cheetah exhibit, where some of the world's fastest creatures slow down for an extraordinary encounter. Stand just a few feet away from this great cat of Africa, highly regarded by ancient Egyptians, and how The Living Desert is helping to protect this endangered species.
