Travel with The Living Desert
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE MOJAVE DESERT
Monday, January 9
8:00 am – 6:00pm
We will visit many of the highlights of this remarkable desert during our bus tour through the Mojave National Preserve. View the world’s largest concentration of Joshua Trees, cinder cones ranging in age from 10,000 to 7 million years old, and sand dunes that were created over the course of 25,000 years reaching nearly 700 feet high and covering an area of 45 square-miles! We’ll stop at the Kelso Depot Visitor Center which at one time served as a train station, restaurant and employee housing on the Los Angeles and Salt Lake route of the Union Pacific Railroad. We will be joined on our tour by a desert naturalist/geologist and Living Desert staff members. Pack a lunch or purchase one at the Depot.
