LA BREA TAR PITS AND PAGE MUSEUM
Friday, December 16
8:00 am – 5:30 pm
Step back into the time of the last Ice Age with this tour to the La Brea Tar Pits and Page Museum. Rancho La Brea is recognized as one of the world’s most famous fossil localities, having the largest and most diverse assemblage of extinct Ice Age plants and animals in the world. We will learn about Los Angeles as it was during the last Ice Age between 10,000 and 40,000 years ago, when animals such as saber-toothed cats and mammoths roamed the area. Through windows at the Page Museum Laboratory, we can watch bones being cleaned and repaired. Pack a lunch or purchase one nearby.
