Monarch of the Desert Jaguar Exhibit

Our new jaguar has been named MAGIA
Monarch of the Desert is an excellent opportunity for you to view one of the most elusive creatures on earth, the largest cat native to the Americas, and the only "roaring" cat in North America. Jaguars are very rarely seen in the wild and live solitary predatory lifestyles, often taking their prey from ambush. Monarch of the Desert's habitat parallels the jaguar's native habitat, in the wild - where the Sonoran desert meets the tropical deciduous forest of southern Sonora.

You will be led to this uniquely themed exhibit, by evoking traces of the jaguar's presence, through a sub-tropical forested trail. Monarch of the Desert will represent an old abandoned silver mine, complete with a miner's cabin, rusty old truck, and a water feature located in the Foothills of the Sonora garden. The exhibit is being designed for both children and adults to easily view this mysterious creature.
